On Saturday, September 30th, as part of the BrewLoops Beer Festival, The Bicycle Cafe Kamloops presents an evening of mountain bike cinematics and celebration at the Iron Road MTB Film Festival.
Kamloops has always carried the iconic image of long and flowing, dusty-gold single track trails – an image that photographers and film makers have chased after since the inception of mountain bike films. And it’s challenging to think of a major mountain bike movie that hasn’t featured a prominent Kamloops segment.
But it isn’t only big budget films that have defined the cinematic magic of Kamloops. Kamloops has always been home to a strong society of young film makers, inspired by the city’s iconic light and landscape, who’ve consistently created mountain bike media celebrated all around the world.
So on the evening of Saturday, September 30th, the Kamloops riding community will come together to celebrate the talent of these film makers and the magic of our trails, during a short film festival hosted on the big screen at Iron Road Brewing. And perhaps the most exciting aspect, is that anyone can enter the show.
The Iron Road MTB Film Festival invites mountain bike film makers of any skill level to submit their short film under a relaxed general submissions guideline, including the following:
– 2 to 5 minute total length
– 1080p minimum resolution.
– .mp4 or .mov file format
– Entrants retain full rights to all submitted material. No submitted material will be used for any promotion outside the evening of the festival without the filmmaker’s prior consent.
– All submissions can be made to firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com
– Films will be shortlisted in order to meet minimum quality guidelines.
Deadline to apply Friday Sept. 15th.
Multiple breweries will be on site sampling craft beers from across the province, in addition to some great food.
The bar will be open from 6pm to 11pm. The Hop N Hog will be there to serve food as well.
The event is open to all ages.
We look forward to seeing you at the show!
